Is Hexwing free?
Yes. Hexwing is free to play in the browser at hex-wing.com. There is nothing to buy.
Do I need to download anything?
No. It runs in the browser. You can install it as an app from the sign-in screen: on iPhone, Share → Add to Home Screen; on Android and desktop Chrome, use the Install button.
Which browsers work?
Any current browser. The 3D view needs WebGL, which every current phone and desktop browser has; if it is missing, Hexwing falls back to 2D.
Do I need an account?
Yes — a username and a password, chosen on the sign-in screen. No email is asked for.
What is the difference between 2D and 3D?
Only the drawing. The 2D view is top-down; the 3D view puts a camera behind your vessel. The simulation is the same, so 2D and 3D players can duel each other, and you can switch mid-match.
How do I get new abilities?
By winning. Beating the practice bot unlocks two base abilities; beating a player unlocks six. Merging two or three abilities in the Forge makes new ones.
What happens when my shot hits a mirror?
It reflects at the mirrored angle. A shot fired straight at a mirror comes straight back at you and hurts for its full damage.
How is a match decided?
Health at the end of 90 seconds, or the first vessel out of health. Both players report the result; a match settles when the reports agree.
Is there a single-player mode?
Practice vs bot fights an AI running the same rules; its level rises as you beat it.
Who made Hexwing?
